One of my favorite sounds is children laughing and playing. A family favorite is the trampoline. Rarely is the weather bad enough to prevent at least one little person from asking to go jump. As soon as one starts jumping, others follow.
Occasionally the laughter turns to crying. When asked what happened, the answer is always, “He launched me!”
The older boys enjoy making that perfect bounce that will send a little one flying. More importantly, the little ones beg for it. No child has been launched without asking for it. No child has been seriously hurt from a launch. Ironically they tend to forget the launch gone wrong and only remember the thrill of being successfully launched into the air. Thus thrillseeking is born.
Next time, I think I’ll ask them to launch me.
